Yes — weekly residencies are roughly a third of our bar/club business. We supply the kit on a permanent loan, install a back-of-house charging station, train your team, and service the units quarterly. Either works. Most bar residencies use a phone or laptop with Spotify on each of the three channels — bar staff manage it like jukebox playlists. One-off event nights tend to bring in a DJ for the main channel, with phone playlists handling the secondary channels. Both are valid.

Your bar's existing PA stays for staff announcements, last orders, and emergency comms — we don't touch it. Customers wearing headphones still hear announcements clearly because the headphones are open-design enough not to fully isolate from the room. For high-energy moments we can also push announcements onto the channels themselves with a microphone input.

PRS license, yes — music is still being broadcast, even silently. PEL conditions about amplified sound, no — there is no amplified sound being produced. Many venues find their PEL conditions become irrelevant because the conditions specifically address noise leakage that no longer exists. We don't supply legal advice, but we can walk you through what other venues have done with their licensing officers.

Standard nightclub damage and loss is covered by our insurance — we don't invoice for the inevitable broken or walked-off units. Wilful theft is recoverable from the customer (most venues take ID or a deposit at the headphone handover), but in over a decade of bar/club hires we've only had to invoice for that twice. Spare units (5-10%) are built into the count so a broken one doesn't kill the night.

Neighbour complaints about silent disco crowds tend to be about the after-party noise — people leaving the venue at 3am rather than 11pm. We supply venues with a one-page brief on managing late-night egress: staggered exits, taxi-rank coordination, no smoking-area conversations after midnight. Most complaints disappear within a month once the egress is managed.

Yes — larger clubs with multiple rooms can run a six-channel setup using two transmitter units, which gives you six simultaneous music streams across the building (one per room). Maximum volume is hardware-capped at the headphone — even a customer mashing the buttons can't push it past safe levels. Each headphone has its own volume wheel which adjusts locally without affecting others. Bar staff don't need to police it — the design does the policing.
