Silent disco questions answered

The questions everyone asks.

If yours isn’t here, ping us on the quote form and we’ll get you a straight answer in under 24 hours.

Which silent disco experience suits my event?

Three channels organise the choices. LATE (CH.01) is for slow-burn, post-curfew, intimate events — weddings, kids parties, bars. LOUD (CH.02) is for high-energy crowds — festivals, school discos, sports clubs. SLICK (CH.03) is for branded and corporate — rooftops, brand activations, unique venues. Tell us the event on the quote form and we'll match the kit and channel mix to it.

Can a silent disco actually work for a wedding?

Yes — weddings are our largest category. Most venues now enforce an 11pm curfew due to sound limiters, license conditions, or neighbour agreements. A silent disco lets the night run until your guests are done, with no amplified sound leaving the room. We have run everything from 30-guest barn ceremonies through to 300-guest hotel receptions.

Are silent discos suitable for outdoor festivals and field events?

That's exactly what they're built for. Multi-stage festivals use silent broadcast so several tents can run music at once without bleeding into each other. The kit handles 300 metres line-of-sight, so a stage in one field can comfortably serve a crowd a couple of fields over. We supply single-day events and full multi-day festivals across the UK.

Are silent disco headphones safe for kids parties?

Yes — and they are especially good for them. The headphones adjust for any head size from around age 5 upwards, maximum volume is capped well below hearing-damage levels, the LED ring helps younger guests spot their friends across a busy room, and parents finally get a party that does not leave the house ringing for hours afterwards.

Will the equipment work at my venue?

In almost every case, yes. We have delivered into hotels, barns, churches, schools, marquees, rooftops, warehouses, country houses, beaches, gardens, and corporate offices. The kit needs a power socket for the transmitters and line-of-sight broadcast — that's it. Sound limiters, noise abatement notices, and neighbour agreements stop being a problem because there is no amplified sound.

Can you supply branded headphones for corporate events?

Yes — for SLICK channel bookings we supply LED-glow headphones with your logo or event branding, custom welcome cards, and channel-branded signage. Lead time for full branding turnaround is typically three to four weeks, so factor that in to your booking timeline.

How does pricing differ between experience types?

Pricing is driven by headphone count, event duration, and delivery distance — not the experience category itself. A 50-guest wedding and a 50-guest corporate event cost the same; a 300-guest festival costs more because of the headphone count. Quotes come back within 24 hours, fully itemised, no hidden delivery or collection fees.

What about events with no fixed venue — outdoor weddings, pop-ups, beach parties?

Standard hire. We have delivered to fields, beaches, forests, gardens, and town squares. The kit is splash-resistant but not waterproof, so we recommend a covered area for the transmitters in wet weather. If you are completely off-grid we can supply battery packs for the transmitters as an extras line-item.

Do you supply DJs alongside the equipment?

No — kit only. You can plug in any audio source: a hired DJ controller, a laptop running Spotify, three phones with curated playlists, even live-streamed radio. We have worked alongside dozens of DJs over the years and are happy to recommend names from the network if you need one.

What is the minimum and maximum event size you can support?

From 10 headphones for a small dinner-party crowd up to 500+ headphones for a festival stage. There is no minimum booking value — we would rather supply 12 headphones for a kids birthday than turn it down. For events over 500 headphones we coordinate multi-case delivery and on-site support as standard.

How far in advance should I book for my chosen experience?

As early as possible for weddings and peak summer dates from April to September. Six to eight weeks gives the widest choice. Two to three weeks is fine for most other event types, and same-week bookings are sometimes possible if there is free kit. The quote form auto-checks availability against your date.
